ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Herb was ordained by the First Baptist Church of Estacada, Oregon, a Conservative Baptist Association church, and from 1989 to 1999, he helped establish and then pastor Lakeside Community Church in Elephant Butte, New Mexico, a non-denominational congregation.
He also has a unique understanding of the laymen’s point of view, having often been "just one of the fellows in the pew". He has worked as a manager of two real estate offices, a mortgage broker and a medical office manager. He currently resides in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, where he is working with his son, Dave, as a consultant and spiritual director of Saddleback Leather Company, LLC, an Internet business founded by Dave to support missions. David and his wife, Suzette, reside in San Antonio, Texas, where they recently gave birth to their second child, a boy named, Cross Xavior. Dave and Suzette market the world’s coolest handmade leather products including briefcases, backpacks, satchels, pouches, wallets, laptop cases, duffle bags and luggage. Herb and Carol have five children (Jeanne, Patricia, Deborah, David and Jonathan) and fourteen grandchildren. Their oldest daughter, Jeanne, and her husband, Tim, live in Keller, Texas, near Fort Worth. They adopted a little 9 year old girl from Russia named Maria, bringing their family to 5 children. Patricia has four children and also resides in Keller. She and her husband, Dennis, own a fulfillment shipping company called Chamberlain Shipping, LLC and handle Saddleback Leather Company's quality control and shipping. Deborah has three children and also lives in Keller. She is a "911" operator. Her son, Jacob, is currently attending Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. Jonathan, Herb and Carol's youngest, served in the Marine Corps where he was a Marine Security Guard at the American Embassies in London, England as well as Tunis, Tunisia (North Africa). After the Marines, he attended and has recently graduated from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
One of Herb's goals is to write commentaries on the book of Genesis, Daniel, Matthew and Revelation as all four of these books are uniquely linked together in presenting the whole picture of end time prophecy. The Genesis commentary is named, First Work; Daniel is named Kingdom Work; Matthew is, King's Work and Revelation is named, Strange Work. They can be found at:
